Functional Consultant

Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires Functional Consultant to be based at their client’s office in London, UK.

This is a hybrid role – you can work remotely in the UK and attend the London office 3 days per week .

This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start asap

Day rate: Competitive Market rate

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit, Analyze, and Drive Strategic CFO Solution Requirements:
    • Collaborate with the CFO Group to elicit, analyze, and drive strategic solution requirements.
    • Ensure comprehensive documentation of CFO solution requirements while bringing leading and best practices to requirement documentation.
  • Act as On-the-Ground Business Analyst:
    • Serve as the Finance IT “on-the-ground” Business Analyst, directly engaging with CFO subject matter experts (SMEs).
    • Work closely with CFO SMEs to understand and capture business needs and translate them into actionable requirements.
  • Support Vendor Solution Analysis:
    • Assist in the analysis of vendor solution demos against documented requirements.
    • Support scoring and matching functionality to ensure alignment with requirements.
  • Financial Expertise and Wealth Management Understanding:
    • Demonstrate understanding of finance, including subledger roles and financial control closing processes.
    • Possess experience in and understanding of Wealth Management lines of business and corresponding accounting for products/services.
  • Utilization of Business Analysis Tools:
    • Use business analysis and requirements modeling tools (e.g., data flow diagrams, relationship data models, business process modeling) effectively in project activities.
  • Product Solutioning and Technical Requirements Translation:
    • Collaborate on product solutioning and translate functional requirements into technical requirements.
    • Manage functional backlog to ensure alignment with project goals and priorities.
  • Data Analysis and Understanding:
    • Possess a strong understanding of data models and experience in data analysis.
  • Business Analysis Expertise:
    • Demonstrate strong business analysis skills, including elicitation, synthesis, evaluation, and communication of results.
  • Interpersonal and Leadership Skills:
    • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Display leadership abilities to lead integrated teams in project activities.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in Finance IT, with a focus on Wealth Management preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, including subledger roles and financial control closing processes.
  • Experience in eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
  • Familiarity with business analysis and requirements modeling tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor communication to different stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership abilities to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and practices.
  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP) or Project Management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
