Software Asset Manager

Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced Software Asset Manager to be based in their client’s office in London, UK.

This is a Hybrid role and you will be able to work some days remotely.

This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start asap.

Day rate: Competitive Market rate.

This role sits within the End User Support function, running the lifecycle and configuration of the internal software assets as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. Day to day management, governance, tracking, monitoring and auditing IT internal lifecycle of logical assets across the full licence suite (not just Microsoft). The role will require engagement with the SAM intelligence management service, Procurement and technical product owners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lifecycle management and auditing of software and licenses
  • Software compliance with contractual / license obligations and entitlements
  • Interfacing between users, internal and external suppliers, procurement teams, licensing teams, group governance risk and compliance, finance teams and any other 3rd parties to ensure accurate information is recorded within the CMDB
  • Maintain a CMDB to supervise and manage all software assets
  • Drive 10% optimisation through software utilisation and re-harvesting reporting
  • Establish and document governance around processes and procedures
  • Analytical Reporting
  • Documentation & process improvements

Key Requirements:

  • Experience with Software and Licensing Management and tool – SNOW
  • Good understanding of IT asset management lifecycle processes
  • Knowledge and experience of ITSM tooling
  • An extensive understanding of Service Level Agreements and Service Level Management
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft product suite
  • Proficient writing documentation Processes
  • Good technical understanding of project requirements
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure or through demanding challenges
  • Work with other key process owners and support teams delivering a coordinated service
  • Support team development and Business goals and objectives
  • Presentation & communication experience
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong communications (written & verbal)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
