AWS Infrastructure Architect
Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires AWS Infrastructure Architect to be based at their client’s office in Coventry, UK.
This is a hybrid role – you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Coventry office 2 days per week .
This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start asap
Day rate: Competitive Market rate
Our client is seeking a highly skilled AWS Infrastructure Architect with deep expertise/experience in landing Zone creation, cloud best practices, and industry frameworks to help review the design and implementation of an AWS set up for of a scalable, secure, and resilient data platform
Key Responsibilities
- Review the design and implementation of an AWS Landing Zones ensuring multi-account governance, security, and compliance
- Review architecture and deployment of a cloud-native data platforms leveraging AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lake Formation, Redshift, Athena, and EMR
- Review design for cloud infrastructure best practices, including IAM policies, network segmentation, logging, and monitoring
- Align architecture with industry frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and Well-Architected Framework, ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR)
- Future proof AWS environment design and set up for infrastructure automation efforts using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK
- Provide technical leadership and be part of the architectural governance forums
- Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and performance optimization for cloud workloads
Key Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure architecture, with at least 5 years on AWS
- Proven experience in Landing Zone creation using AWS Control Tower or custom frameworks
- Strong understanding of data platform architecture and data governance in utility sectors
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CDK
- Familiarity with utility industry standards and operational models (e.g., SCADA integration, asset management systems)
- Expertise in networking, security, and identity management in AWS
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent certification preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
